Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

VEEDERSBURG - John A. Linker of 4280 Calle Real, Santa Barbara, Calif. died recently in a Santa Barbara hospital after a long illness. Born June 26, 1887, in Chambersburg, Ind., he was raised there and in Veedersburg. He and Hazel Wilder were married Aug. 5, 1911, in Leroy, Ill. they went to Santa Barbara in 1925. She survives at the family home. Mr. Linker was a former member of the Veedersburg Masonic Lodge. A carpenter, he worked for several Santa Barbara construction firms and was a 50-year member of Carpenters Local 1062. Mr. Linker also leaves a son, John T. Linker of Orange; three daughters, Mrs. Wandalyne, Westberg, Mrs. Maxyne Truedale and Mrs. LaVeta Manning all of Santa Barbara; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Memorial services were held in the Welch-Ryce Associates chapel. The Rev. Howard Trevelyan of the Church of Religious Science officated. Private committal services were at the Santa Barbara cemetery. - jlr
