LONGACRE, Henry

THREE GREAT ladies and wonderful genealogists saved many old obituaries and put them into a binder – they let me use them for the GenWeb page – thanks so much to Fauniel Hershberger; Claudine Yerkes and Betty Dotson (my adopted 2nd mom – loved that lady) – these were mostly mid 1940s deaths but no dates or newspapers are noted.

Dr. Henry E. Longacre, aged 84 years well known veterinarian of Covington died Oct 1 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Virgil Martin near Ladoga where he was taken a few months ago to be cared for during his last illness. Born Feb 23, 1860 at Goshen, Ind most of his life was spent at Covington.  He was a great lover of horses and owned and trained many good animals during his active life. He was a practicing veterinarian until ill health forced him to give up his practice.  His wife died a few years ago and his only survivor is his daughter, Mrs. Martin.  Funeral services were held at the Shelby Funeral Home in Covington Wednesday with burial in Mt.
