LUCAS, Ruth Adamson

Mrs. Ruth Elizabeth Adamson Lucas, 74, died 7 p.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill. She had been a resident of Hillsboro the past five years. She was born July 15, 1895, in Covington, the daughter of John M. and Caroline Bell Adamson. She was married June 15, 1922 in Covington to Claude C. Lucas, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Norman (Caroline) Tufford, Bloomington; one brother, Malcolm Adamson, Madison, Wis. She was preceded in death by two brothers. She was a member of the Hillsboro United Methodist Church, the WSCS, was a 50-year member of Troy Chapter of Eastern Star in Covington, the Veedersburg DAR and the Indiana State Teachers' Association. She was a graduate of Madame Blake's School, Muncie Normal Institute and Indiana State Teachers College at Terre Haute. She had taught in Covington, Wallace, Danville, Ill., Howe, Newtown, Hope, and retired from teaching at Flat Rock in 1955. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Walter C. Williams and Rev. Arthur Schenck officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery at Covington. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Monday.  -- typed by Walt W
