MIDDLE POINT -- William E. Stemen, 83, of Rt. 1, Middle Point, died at 8:20 a. m. today at the Van Wert County Hospital. He had been ill about nine months. Born March 14, 1884, in Jackson Township, he was the son of David B. and Mary E. (Bressler) Stemen. He was married on Sept. 7, 1905, to Bessie Ross. She preceded him in death. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Elsworth (Madelene) McGinnis of N. Washington St.; two brothers, Jess Stemen of Convoy, and Dave Stemen of Middle Point; a sister, Mrs. Chester Snyder of Middle Point. Three brothers, two sisters and a granddaughter are deceased. Mr. Stemen was a carpenter and cabinet maker. He was a member of the Ridge Methodist Church and taught Sunday School for several years. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p. m. Sunday at the Alspach Funeral Home, the Rev. Everett Thomas to officiate. Burial will be in the Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Saturday.   --typed by Walt W
