Veedersburg—Mrs. Harry Moorehouse of Veedersburg has received word of the death of her brother, Edwin L. Stephens, who passed away at the St. Anthony Hospital in Michigan City. He was employed in Michigan as an estate caretaker, but while in Veedersburg, he was a blacksmith. Mr. Stephens had left Veedersburg 20 years ago and his family had not heard any news of him until they were notified of his death.
He was born January 9, 1881 in Lafayette, Indiana, the son of John Stephens and Loretta Carolyn Craig Stephens. He married Irene Gray, who preceded him in death in 1941. Mr. Stephens was a member of the Veedersburg United Brethren Church.
Body was returned to Veedersburg Thursday to the Fishero Funeral Home. Services conducted Saturday afternoon at 2:00 with burial in Rockfield Cemetery.
The only other survivors besides his sister are Mrs. Tom Marsh, of Veedersburg and a brother, James, of Indianapolis. – thanks to S&E
