James Stephens, of near Mellott, died Friday morning after a long spell of sickness in his 51st year. The funeral services will occur Sunday afternoon at the Antioch Christian Church of which he was a member. The
sermon will be by Rev. Bailey, the Christian minister at Wingate. Mr. Stephens leaves a wife and 4 children. He was a splendid man and good citizen. One brother, Gus Stephens lives in the Ridge Farm neighborhood.
The interment will be made at Dry Run Cemetery. --- transcribed by kbz
