VEEDERSBURG, Ind. (CNS) — John Harvey Stephens, 66, of 220 N. Mill, died at 8:40 a.m. today (Jan. 3, 1968) at Lake View Memorial Hospital. He had been a patient there a day and had been ill several years. Born Aug. 13, 1901, in Danville, Ill., he was the son of Walter and Viola Smart Stephens. He was married Nov. 1, 1924, to Ruth Denton, who survives. Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. Marjorie Lembright of Detroit, Mich.; three brothers, Walter of Newtown, Chester of Pine Village and Thomas in California, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister. The body is at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. Arrangements are incomplete.   --typed by Walt W

VEEDERSBURG, Ind. (CNS) — Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington for John Harvey Stephens, 66, of 220 N. Mill. He died yesterday at Lake View Memorial Hospital. The Rev. Edith Bruner will officiate. Burial will be in the Old Baptist Cemetery, northwest of Newtown. The body is at the funeral home. Mr. Stephens was employed at the Big Four Railroad shops in Beach Grove for 18 years. He returned to the Covington area in 1944 and farmed in the Salem community until forced to retire by failing health in 1958. He had resided in Veedersburg since 1962. He was married to Ruth Clauson, who survives. He was a member of Fountain Masonic Lodge 60 and was a sports fan.   --typed by Walt W
