STETLER, Ruth Riley

Williamsport - Ruth E. Stetler, 82 formerly of WIlliamsport who had been residing at Lafayette Healthcare Center, died at 12:50 a.m. March 15, 1995 at Home HOspital, Lafayette. She was born in Attica, March 19, 1912, the daughter of Charles Howard and Sarah Alice Jane Redman Riley. She married Raymond Eldon Stetler, March 22, 1930 in Attica. He preceded in death Feb 27, 1967. She was raised in Attica and attended Attica schools. She had later moved to Lafayette and had lived in Williamsport, before moving into the nursing center 3 years ago. She had formerly worked at the Indiana state Soldiers Home, West Lafayette. She retired in 1976. She was a member of the Attica Free Methodist Church; she loved to crochet and quilt. Surviving are 5 sons: Robert Stetler, Aurora, Colo; Lloyd (Joan) Stetler, Lafayette; the Rev. Carl (Jan) Stetler, Veedersburg; Larry (Pam) Setler, Delphi; Jerry (Luellen) Stetler, Kingman; two daughters, Virginia Ping, Perrysville; Letha (Don) Rebindo, Buck Creek; two sisters, Hazel Godfrey and Albert Beard, both of Attica; 26 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Louise Keller. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Maus Funeral Home, Attica. Burial in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today, Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Attica Free Methodist Church.
