STEVENS, Helen M.

Mrs. Helen M. Stevens, 81, 7 St. Francis Drive, Covington, died at 2 a.m. Tuesday, January 12, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Illinois.
  Born October 6, 1900 in Wabash Township, she was the daughter of George Dee and Libby Rabb Snoddy. She married Myles Beckett Stevens June 3, 1924. He survives.
  A resident of Wabash Township most of her life, she graduated from Covington High School and Indiana University. She had been employed by Camel Ewal Advertising Agency in Detroit, Michigan. She had lived in Chicago, Indianapolis, Columbus, Ohio and Detroit. She and her husband moved to Covington from their farm in 1977.
  She was a member of Fountain County Welfare Board for ten years and had served as board president, Alpha Gamma Chapter of Tri Kappa, Richard Henry Lee Chapter of Daughters of American Revolution, Woman’s Club, and Wabash Township Home Demonstration Club, serving as a 10th District officer. She was a member of Alpha Omacron Phi at Indiana University, Republican Women’s Club and Boulevard Presbyterian Church of Detroit.Other survivors include a cousin, Madeline Snoddy of Covington.
  Services were today  (Thursday) at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Wilson officiating. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery in Covington.
  The family requested that any memorials be in the form of contributions to the building fund of the Benson Chapel United Methodist Church. – thanks so much to “S”
