STOCKDALE, James Jefferson

Jeff Stockdale, 59, a farmer most of his life, died at 6:45 o'clock Monday morning of a heart ailment at Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville. He had been ill since Sunday. Born March 23, 1891, in Fountain County, Mr. Stockdale was the son of George and Elinora Booe Stockdale. He married Mamie Leonard at Veedersburg Dec 4,1912. He was a member of the Alamo Christian Church. Surviving are the widow; two sons, James R. Stockdale of Carawfordsville and Max L. Stockdale, at home; a daughter, Mrs Elinora Melvin of C'ville; six brothers; Charles, Rex, Paul and Guy of near Veedersburg; Arthur of Dnaville Ill and Ralph of C'ville; two sisters, Mrs. Vereta Coates of Veedersburg; and Mrs. Fany Hoy of Urbana, Illinois and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Wed afternoon at the family hjome of Dr HM Bounnell farm one mile south of here. Rev. John R. Servies will be the offic. minister, with burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
