Death came to James Clem Stonecipher, 65, at 4 o'clock Sunday morning at Carle Clinic in Urbana, Ill following a short illness.

Mr. Stonecipher was born in Harrison County, Indiana on July 30, 1878, son of Andrew and Katherine Smith Stonecipher.  He moved to Fountain County 28 years ago and has lived 14 years on a farm east of Covington.  He was married to Marcia E. Toler on July 30, 1905.  She preceded him in death on May 13, 1942.

Surviving are 3 daughters: Mrs. Paul Jackson and Mrs. Gould Clough of Crawfordsville; Mrs. Kenneth Houghland of Covington; three sons: Harry, William and Robert, all of Covington; 10 grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Jacob Hannel of Corydon, Indiana.

Funeral services were held at 2 Wednesday afternoon at the Salem Methodist Church with the Rev, George Beatty of Terre Haute, officiating.  Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.   --- transcribed by kbz

Covington, Feb. 14—Following two weeks’ illness, J. C. Stonecipher, age 65, farmer living near Covington, died early Sunday morning at the Circle Clinic in Urbana, Ill. He had gone to the clinic two weeks ago Monday for observation.   Native of Harrison County in Indiana where he was born July 30, 1878, Mr. Stonecipher was the son of Andrew and Katherine Smith Stonecipher. He moved to Fountain County 28 years
ago, since which time he has lived near here on a farm. He had lived at his present home east of Covington for the past fourteen years.  Mr. Stonecipher was married on his 27th birthday, July 30, 1905 to Marcia E. Toler, of Corydon. They resided in Corydon until their removal to Fountain County in 1916. Mrs. Stonecipher died in 1942.  Mr. Stonecipher is survived by six children, two of whom Mrs. Paul Jackson, 102 South Grant Avenue and Mrs. Gould Clough, 803 Wayne Avenue, reside in Crawfordsville. A third daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Houghland, lives in Covington. Three sons also live in Covington, Harry Stonecipher, William Stonecipher, and Robert Stonecipher. Mr. Stonecipher also is survived by one sister, Mrs. Jacob Hannel, of Cordon. There are ten grandchildren also surviving.  Funeral services will be held at the Salem Methodist Church at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. George Beatty of Terre Haute, former pastor of the Methodist Church at Covington, officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.-S
