Mrs. Lina Floyd Stout was born in Newtown Sept 18, 1902. She spent her girlhood in the town where she was born and later graduated from Crawfordsville HS. Besides a host of relatives and friends she leaves one son, Howard; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lew Floyd of Newtown; one sister, Nell Floyd of Crawfordsville and a brother, Robert Floyd of Muncie. The funeral was held at the ME Church in Newtown with Rev. CC Rockwell officiating, his text being In My Father’s House. Omer Peveler, accompanied by Mrs. Peveler sang In the Garden and Old Rugged Cross.  Flower girls were Donna Witt, Edith Witt, Agatha Palin, Ruth Adeylotte, Lois Renick and Beryl Spear.  Pall bearers were Dan Gry, Fred Coleman, Raymond Spear, IK Ewart, Orson Bell and Floyd Bell. - kbz

Newtown June 21 – Mrs. Lena (Floyd) Stout, 32, died at 9:30 o’clock this morning at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Floyd, following an illness of several months with tuberculosis. She has been a patient at the state sanitarium in Rockville, returning two weeks ago. Mrs. Stout was born in Newtown Sept 18, 1902. Surviving are a son, Howard, her parents; a sister, Miss Nell Floyd, Crawfordsville and a brother, Robert Floyd of Muncie.  - kz
