Mrs. Anna Barker Strader, age 77, of Attica, died late Sunday morning, May 15, 1966 at the Alwood Nursing Home, Attica, Indiana. She had been ill the past year. Mrs. Strader was born Oct 14, 1888 in Parke County, the daughter of Thomas & Emily Morgan Barker. Her husband, Sherman Strader, preceded her in death in 1944. She was a member of the Union Christian Church, the Shawnee Towmship Home Demonstration Club and the Wabash Valley Garden Club. Survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. (Miss) Naomi Strader, of Winimac, and one sister, Chlore Barker of Marion. She also was preceded in death by one son, Daniel in 1919. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tues with Rev. Louis Haskell officiating. Burial in Union Church Cemetery, South of Attica

Source: The obituary is from a collection of newspaper (paper names not recorded) obituaries saved, by Fauniel Hershberger, during the 1950's, 60's, 70's and 80's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

ATTICA— Mrs. Anna (Barker) Strader, 87, of 205 N. 6th St., died in the Alward Nursing Home here at 11 a.m. Sunday after a year's illness. Born in Parke County, she was the widow of Sherman Strader who died in 1944. She was a member of the former Union Christian Church. Surviving are a daughter, Miss Naomi Strader of Winamac, and a sister, Miss Chloe Barker of Marion.
