George S. Strong of RR 4, Attica, age 70, died Thursday morning, February 4, in St. Vincent’s Hospital at Indianapolis. He was born at Hillsboro, April 1, 1911, the son of Russell and Mollie Snider Strong. July 26, 1956, he married Lola Chaffin Kight, who survives.

Strong was a member of the Warren County Council and a former trustee of Pine Township. A retired automobile salesman, he had been employed at Courtesy Chevrolet-Olds in Attica for 40 years. He was a member of Mellott Christian Church, Attica Eagles Lodge, Crawfordsville Elks Lodge, past president of Attica-Williamsport Rotary Club and past grand chancellor of Knights of Pythias.

Also surviving are a daughter, Martha Crumley of Omaha, Nebraska; a son, James K. of Williamsport; a half-sister, Mable Hanley of Attica; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Maus Funeral Home in Attica with Rev. Charles B. Anderson officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery at Williamsport. – thanks to S
