VEEDERSBURG -- Mrs. Anna I. Stuart, 82, Fountain native, died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Our Lady of Mercy Hospital in Dyer, Ind. She had been in failing health for several years. Mrs. Stuart was the widow of Pearl T. Stuart who was a farmer and later a building contractor in the Veedersburg area. She had been residing in Lowell with a son, Thomas Stuart, for the last six years. The deceased was a member of the Veedersburg Methodist Church. A daughter of John and Mary Ilett, she was born in Covington on July 2, 1885. She was married on Oct. 1, 1912, to Mr. Stuart in Veedersburg. Her husband died in 1964. Surviving besides the one son are another son, Lawson, also of Lowell; a daughter, Mrs. Genevieve Wilbur of Lafayette; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Lois Harold of Veedersburg, Mrs. Mildred Emerson of Kankakee, Ill., and Mrs. Lucy Warrem of Terre Haute; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild. In addition to her husband, a brother and a sister preceded her in death. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Parham Funeral Home in Veedersburg. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Covington. Friends may call from 3-9 p.m. Tuesday. - typed by Walt W.

Stuart, age 82, a resident of Veedersburg most of her life except for the past six years at Lowell, Ind died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday Nov 5 at the Lady of Mercy Hospital in Dyer.  Mrs. Stuart was born July 2, 1885 in Covington, the daughter of John and Mary Ilett. She was married Oct 1, 1917 at Veedersburg to Pearl T. Stuart who died in 1964.  She was a member of the Methodist Church.  Survivors include: two sons, Thomas and Lawson both of Lowell; one daughter, Mrs. Genevieve Wilbur of Lafayette; three step daughters, Mrs. Lois Harold of Veedersburg, Mrs. Mildred Emerson of Kankakee, Ill and Mrs. Lucy Warren of Terre Haute; 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.  Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Parham Funeral Home. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Covington. – kbz
