ATTICA, Ind. (CNS) – Joe Homer Stump, 69, of Attica Route, 2, died at 1:10 a.m. today (Dec. 10, 1968) in Community Hospital at Williamsport. He had been a patient two days and in ill health five years. Born March 19, 1899 at Alvin, Ill., he was the son of Henry and Cora Peak Stump. He was married in 1919 to Jane Hardy, who survives. He was a member of Hickman Heights Church. He had resided in Attica 32 years and had been employed at the Roemer & Son Furniture Store and at Purdue University. He attended school at Alvin, had farmed and entered the U. S. Army in 1917 serving in France with the 446th Motor Truck Co. The body is at the Roemer Funeral Home where friends may call after 7 p.m. Wednesday. Services will be there at 2 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Earl Carmichael officiating. Burial will in Riverside Cemetery. Surviving in addition to the widow are six daughters, Mesdames Fred Marquess of Veedersburg, Melvin Simpson and Robert Smith of Attica, David Green of Jacksonville, Fla., Ralph Howler of Fresno, Calif., and Robert Allison of West Lebanon; two sisters, Mrs. Ruel Abbott of Potomac and Miss Elva Stump of Lincoln; a brother, Robert of Rossville; 13 grandchildren, and three great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers, two sisters and three grandchildren. -– jlr
