Found unconscious in a field on his farm near Yeddo, late Saturday, clarence summers, prominent farmer was rushed to lake View Hospital at Danville. HIs condition sunday was reported as "very poor" at the hospital after he was attended by AE Dale, Danville and AL Ratcliff, Kingman who accompanied the injured man to Danville. Mr. Summers is well known in this community and has a brother who is a professor at the University of Illinois. The injured man resides with his mother, Mrs. Vura Summers about a mile and a half E. of Yeddo. The tractor was seen by passersby running against a stout fence and investigation revealed the man lying on the ground some distance away. Just how he was injured wa snot known. The tractor was said to have apprently run over his head and face. mr. Sumers has been married and has a daughter, Doris and son, Max in Chicago. His brother in Champaign was noticed of the accident.

Veedersburg - Funeral services for Clarence H. Summers were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Fisher Funeral Home with Rev. John Servies in charge. Burial in Centennial Cemetery. Mr. Summers, 77 died at 7 p.m. Friday at his farm home south of here. He had been suffering from a heart ailment ... He was a member of the Centennial EUB Church and served as its caretaker a number of years. Born Aug 6, 1885 in Fountain County, he was a son of Allen & Missouri Leonard Summers. He was married in 1905 to Mabel Reed. She died in 1952. Surviving are a son, Maxwell Summers of Gary; a brother, Walter Summers of Urbana, Illinois and a duaghter Mrs. Doris Courtney of Springfield, Ill

Veedersburg - Services were held at 2 p. m. Sunday, Nov. 16, at the Fishero Funeral Home for Clarence H. Summers, age 77, who died Friday night, Nov. 16, at his farm home, five miles south of Veedersburg. He had been ill with a heart ailment for five years. Born Aug. 6, 1885, in Fountain County, he was the son of Allen and Missouri Leonard Summers. He married Mable Reed in 1905 and she died 10 years ago. Mr. Summers was a member of the Centennial Evangelical United Brethren Church and had served as caretaker for the church many years. Surviving are a son, Maxwell Summers of Gary; a daughter, Mrs. Doris Courtney of Springfield, Ill., and a brother, Walter Summers of Urbana, Ill. The Rev. John Servies officiated.
