Harry Barton brigs The Star tiding of another sad tragedy in the
Jackville vicinity wherin Elige Summers took his own life with no more
cause other than he was tired of living.  Mr. Summers was only 23 years
of age and was married just five months to a day previous to Tuesday
when he committed suicide by hanging in his own barn on his farm, about
5 miles south of Jackville.  When he was found life was extinct; one end
of the rope was fastened around a beam, the other about his neck, while
his knees touched the floor.  Recent events go to show that he tried to
purchase morphine at a Jackville drug store but the dealer was afraid to
sell it to him on account of his peculiar actions.  The deceased was a
nephew to Mr. Summers, the Hillsboro druggist and was an excellent young
man. - typed by kbz
