Wallace—J. Marx Summers, 81, Route 1, Hillsboro, died at 2:20 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 1989, at Covington Manor Health Care Center.
  He was born March 3, 1907, near Cates, the son of Joseph and Lear Wagoner Summers. He was married in 1929 to Zelpha Hamm, who preceded him in death in 1985. In 1986, he married Elon Sowers, who survives.
  He was a farmer and distributor of Farm Bureau oil products, retiring in 1970. He was an elder and member of Wallace Christian Church. He was past master of Wallace Masonic Lodge 495. He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute. He was also a member of OES, Wallace Chapter 415, and Wallace Low Club.
  Surviving besides his wife are a stepson, Kedrick Sowers, Hillsboro; a stepdaughter, Kaye Blacketer, Kingman; several step grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren.
  Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. today (Friday) at Thomas Funeral Home, Waynetown, with the Revs. Jeff Busby and Mike Sabens officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery, Wallace.
  Masonic rites were by Wallace Lodge at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
