John Riley Swaney, age 73, died at his home here Wednesday night (Jan 31 at 9:00 p.m.). Mr. Swaney was born in Homer, Illinois the son of John and Elizabeth Kirby Swaney. He is survived by a widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Peck Swaney; hree children: Archie and William Swaney of Covington and Mrs. Mary Stewart of Attica; 8 step children 11 grandchildren and a brother and a sister.
The funeral was held from the Gospel Tabernacle at Covington at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon in charge of Rev. Deckard with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery. ---transcribed by kbz
