Mrs. Jessie C. Swank, 81, formerly of 316 E. Van Buren St., died at 6 a. m. Saturday (Aug. 25, 1956) in Vermilion Nursing Home, where she had been a patient two months. The widow of James O. Swank, she was born in Alvin Feb. 14, 1875, daughter of John and Mary Hardy. Surviving are a son, John, of Lafayette, and a sister, Mrs. Stella Johnson of Danville. A son, Roy, and a daughter, Ruby, preceded her in death. Services will be at 2 p. m. Monday at Alvin Christian Church, with burial in Bethel Cemetery near Alvin. The body is at the Pape Memorial Home and will be taken to the church at 1 p. m. Monday. --typed by Walt W
