CAROLINE SANDERS SWEENY was born August 28th, 1824, in Chatam county, N.C.  After a brief sickness departed this life July 8th, 1914, aged 89 years, 10 months and 10 days.  In about the year 1844 she was united in marriage with Oliver Sweeny, and in they early married life they saught, and found Christ in the salvation of their souls.  To this union was born three children, two girls, and one boy.   The oldest girl preceded her in death 16 years ago.  Her husband departed this life in the fall of 1872.   One son, William Sweeny, and one daughter, Nancy Jones still survive.  With many grandchildren, and other relatives left to mourn her departure but not without hope.  She also leaves a brother, Thomas Sweeny, of Mecca. Grandma Sweeny, and Oliver Sweeny, her husband, were both consistant Christians, and members of the United Brethern church.  Grandma will be greatly missed by her children, relatives and friends, and the town in which she has spent her last declining years.  We feel sure she is again united with her husband, and basking in the sunshine of God’s eternal glory to meet her Christ, and to enjoy there the bliss of heaven, with her loved ones that have gone on before. -s
