PINE VILLAGE — Clyde Mitchell Swisher, 86, Pine Village, died at 3:08 p.m. Friday, June 30, 2006 in University Place, West Lafayette. He was born April 27, 1920 in Oxford, the son of Jesse and Ida (Horton) Swisher. He married Mazella "Mazie” Hines June 28, 1942 in Williamsport. She survives. He was a graduate of Pine Village High School and a lifelong resident of Pine Village. He was a farmer and also worked for Ross Gear, a division of TRW in Lafayette for 34 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of the Pine Village Christian Church, having served as deacon and assistant treasurer of the church. He also served on numerous committees at the church including the building committee. He was a member of the F. & A.M. Pine Village Lodge #315, the Pine Village Cemetery Board, and the election board in Adams Township. He had a special bond with his great-grandson Josh whom he spent many hours with. Survivors, besides the wife, include: a daughter, Diane Logsdon, Las Vegas, Nev.; a son, Tom (Lily) Swisher, Nicholasville, Ky.; four grandchildren, Debra Miller, Pine Village, Mike (Nikki) Swisher, Williamsport, Susan (John) O'Leary, Lafayette, and Stacey Staggie, Las Vegas, Nev.; and six great-grandchildren, Josh Miller, Kelcey Swisher, Kiley Swisher, Tyson O'Leary, Scott Staggle, and Gina Staggie. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday in Pine Village Christian Church with the Rev. Paul Stamm officiating. Burial was in Pine Village Cemetery. Grady Funeral Home, Williamsport, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Hanging Rock Christian Assembly Group. – jlr
