SWITZER, Kate Fern

Kate Fern Switzer of Rossville, formerly of Attica, age 90, died Monday evening, August 29, in Milener Nursing Center at Rossville, where she had resided since 1977. She was born at Homer, November 27, 1892, the daughter of John and Sara Carter Abernathy. March 1, 1922, she married Floyd R. Switzer, who died July 1, 1974. Mrs. Switzer was a member of Attica United Methodist Church, Honorary Literary Club, War Mothers and Home economics Club. A graduate of Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Indianapolis, she worked as a registered nurse and supervisor at Methodist Hospital.

Survivors include two sons, George R. of Rossville and Charles of West Lafayette; five grandchildren, four step grandchildren and six step great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held this morning (Thursday) at Maus Funeral Home in Attica with Rev. R. Larry Smith officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery at Attica. – thanks to S
