Newtown, Oct 15 – George Tanner, 84, caretaker at the Old Baptist Cemetery died this morning at Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville. He was found unconscious Wednesday evening by neighbors at his home where he had apparently suffered a heart attack. He lived practically all his life in Newtown and in September 1892 married Osie Whitehall who died three years later. A son, Nicholas, died at the age of 20. Surviving are a brother, Charles Tanner, Saunemin, Ill and sister of Marion. Body at Teague Funeral Home, Wingate and will be taken to the Newtown Methodist Church Wednesday at 1 p.m. for funeral at 2. – kbz
