COVINGTON — Mrs. Katherine Belle Tanner, 74, died at 8:30 a.m. Sunday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill. She had been a patient two weeks. Mrs. Tanner was born Aug. 17, 1898, at Covington, the daughter of Richard and Kate Hickman Merryman. She married Riffle F. Tanner in 1919. He died Oct. 25, 1947. Surviving are a son, Joseph E. of Covington, and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister. Services for Mrs. Tanner will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home here with the Rev. Edgar Allen officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-8 o'clock tonight.   -- typed by Walt W

Covington—Mrs. Katherine Belle Tanner, 74, a life resident of Covington, died at 8:30 a.m. Sunday (May 6, 1973) at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She had been a patient two weeks.
  Born Aug. 17, 1898 in Covington, she was the daughter of Richard and Kate B. Hickman Merryman. She was married in 1919 to Rissell F. Tanner, who died Oct. 25, 1947.
  Survivors include a son, Joseph E. of Covington; and three grandchildren.
  Services were 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home, with the Rev. Edgar Allen officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
