TEEGARDEN, Alice H. Hesler

Mrs. Alice H. Teegarden, age 65, wife of N(oah) M. Teegarden attorney at law in Veedersburg, died at her home here at 11:30 o'clock Friday night (Aug 4, 1945 at 12:30 am.), following an extended illness.  In declining health for the past four years, Mrs. Teegarden had been seriously ill for a year.

Born Sept 29, 1879 (note: her death record says Aug 3, 1878) near Veedersburg, Mrs. Teegarden was the daughter of Jacob and Lydia Davis Hesler, prominent citizens of this community who resided six miles south of Veedersburg. She was one of a family of 10 children.

Her marriage to Mr. Teegarden took place Oct 29, 1905. They are the parents of five children, four of whom survive: Mrs. Imogene Ewan, BIllings, Mont; Sgt. Chester O. Teegarden, Victoria, Kan; Paul A. Teegarden of Columbus and Major Alfred Perry Teegarden with the US Army.  A daughter Pauline died several years ago.

Mrs. Teegarden is also survived by a stepdaughter, Mrs. Ruby Sinclair of Crawfordsville and a brother, Harley Hesler of Veedersburg.

Mrs. Teegarden was an active member of the Christian Church at Veedersburg and also held member in the Veedersburg Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.

The body was removed to the Parham Funeral Home where services were held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock with Rev. JC Shrigley officiating.  Burial in Rockfield Cemetery.   --- transcribed by kbz
