CLINTON — Bessie Thomas, 75, Clinton, formerly of Kingman, died at 3:40 a.m. Monday, Oct. 2, 2000 in West Central Community Hospital. She was born April 5, 1925 in Kentucky, the daughter of Elihu and Frances Bull Clarkston. She married Orie Lex Thomas Oct. 8, 1969 in Veedersburg. He preceded in death in 1974. She formerly worked at the Dormeyer Company in Rockville. She was a member of the Kingman Christian Church, Kingman Senior Citizens and the Millcreek Home Extension Club. Survivors include: a son, David Clarkston, Kingman; two brothers, Bill and Charles Clarkston, Kingman; a sister, Alpha Burnsworth, Terre Haute and three grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by three brothers. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today (Wednesday) in Rockfield Cemetery, Veedersburg, with the Rev. Kenneth Majors officiating. Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg, is in charge of arrangements. – jlr
