John A. Thomas, youngest son of  William and Rebecca Thomas was born in Chatham county, North Carolina Aug 6 1826.   He came with his parents to Indiana in 1869.   On Oct. 1 1882, he was united in marriage to Sciota Boyd.  He departed this life July 8, 1907, aged 50 years, 11 months and 2 days. His father, mother and two brothers preceded him to the spirit land.   He was a loving and devoted husband, a kind father, a generous and obliging neighbor.  He leaves a wife, one son, one brother, two sisters and many other relatives and friends to mourn his departure. During his sickness he expressed to his relatives his readiness and willingness to exchange this life of suffering and sorrow for one of bliss and happiness in that land whose inhabitants never say, “I am sick.” – thanks so very much to “S” for the typing
