VEEDERSBURG — John W. “Bill”
Thomas, 87, Veedersburg, died at 7:50 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005 in The
Waters of Covington. He was born Nov. 30, 1917 in Hillsboro, the son of Harry
and Val Thomas. He married Esther Ratcliff at Centennial Aug. 10, 1946. She
survives. He moved from Kingman to Veedersburg after retiring from farming in
1989. He was a member of Kingman Christian Church and the Kingman Masonic F.
& A.M. Lodge #314. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors, besides the
wife, include nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters and
a brother. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Dickerson Funeral Home,
Veedersburg, with the Revs. Rick Williams and Kenny Majors officiating. Burial
was in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Preferred memorials to the First Christian
Church in Veedersburg or the Kingman Christian Church. – jlr
