THOMASON, Paul Newton

Paul Newton Thomason, former owner of the Courthouse Cafe, was fatally burned Thursday at the Guld ? Service Station which he and his brother owned in Lafayette. He was in the pit ready to work on a car when the ignition was turned on and flames burst from the car and set fire to his clothing.  Handicapped by his position under the car, he was unable to extinguish the fire quickly. He died in Lafayette Friday morning. The
body was brought to the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home and at 3 o'clock on Saturday was taken by them to Fithian. Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church at 2:30 Sunday with burial in the Stern Cemetery at Fithian. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Thomas of Lafayette; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Massie Thomason of Fithian and brothers and sisters.  (findagrave has his dates 1910-1946 - so young)
