THOMPSON, Edith Glascock

Mrs. Edith G. Thompson, 90, died at 2:10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 11, 1979, at the Covington Manor Care Center where she resided.
  She was a retired schoolteacher, having taught in the Sterling and Stone Bluff schools. She received her teachers training at the Madam Blaker’s Kindergarten School in Indianapolis.
  Later, she worked in the office of the Chicago Tribune and was a supervisor at the Findex Files, working out of Chicago.
  Mrs. Thompson was a member of the First Christian Church in Veedersburg since 1899 and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
  Born Sept. 3, 1888, in Garden City, Kan., she was the daughter of Joseph and Olive Cade Glascock. She was married to Elmer Thompson, who died Sept. 8, 1968.
  Survivors include a niece, Mrs. John (Mary Frances) Bir of Crawfordsville, Ind.
  Services were held Saturday at the Parham Funeral Home in Veedersburg with the Rev. Richard Throckmorton officiating. Burial was in the Rockfield Cemetery. – thanks to S
