Fred Toby, age 63, of 3748 N. Lake Boulevard, Danville, brother of Mrs. William (Maurine) Morton, Covington, died unexpectedly Friday morning, April 20, while at work as a fireman at the Fred W. Amend Co. in Danville. Coroner Don C. Goodwin of Vermilion County Illinois conducted an inquiry and found death was caused by a heart condition. Mr. Toby was born in Perrysville, Apri1 18, 1899, he was a son of Henry Clay and Clara VanDeventer Toby. He was married Nov. 16, 1920, in Danville, to Florence Jones, who survives. Mr. Toby had resided in Danville 44 years. He had been employed at the candy manufacturing plant for three and one-half years and prior to that was employed at the Stella Baking Co. for 26 years. Mr. Toby was a member of the Farmers Chapel Evangelical Church. Surviving are his wife; three children, Lloyd, of Danville, Mrs. Imogene Deck of Danville, and Keith of Decatur; a brother, Frank, of Tulahoma, Tenn.; two sisters, Mrs. Maurine Morton, Covington, and Mrs. Rachael Landes of Royal Center, and seven grandchildren. Mr. Toby was preceded in death by five brothers and a grandchild. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, April 23, at the Farmers Chapel Evangelical Church. The Rev. E. C. Owen officiated. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park.   --typed by Walt W
