Oliver "Ollie" Turpin, 51, 706 S. Perry St., Attica, died at Lakeview Medical Center, Danville, Ill., Monday, Aug. 11, at 11:45 a.m. having been ill for five years. He was born in Windsor, Casey County, Ky., Dec. 17, 1934, the son of Amos and Irene Adkins Turpin. He had lived most of his life in Attica. He was married Oct. 1, 1977, in Crawfordsville, to Barbara Jean Sheets, who survives. He attended school in Liberty, Ky. and had been employed at Harrison Steel Castings, Co., Attica, for about 15 years as a truck driver. He had formerly been a tree trimmer. Surviving besides the wife, are two sons, Chad Allen Turpin, at home, and James Turpin, San Diego, Calif.; his mother, Mrs. Irene Neal, Hillsboro; five brothers, Frankie Turpin, Route 2, Attica (Riverside); Earl Turpin, Indianapolis; James Turpin, Logansport; Chester Turpin, Chicago, and Louie of California; one sister, Loretta Laycox, Nashville, Tenn.; two half sisters, Mrs. Linda Turpin, Houstonville, Ky., and Marie Davis, Russell Springs, Ky., and six grandchildren, Angel, Dusstain, Christopher, Donald, Frankie, Rachel.. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with Rev. Jon Carnes officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery Attica.
