Veedersburg - Mrs. Grace VanDeVanter, 78, a resident of Veedersburg for 56 years, died today in the Mt. Pleasant, iowa hospital. Mrs. VanDeVanter and her husband had owned and operated a furniture store and antique shop here for 50 years. She was a member of First Christian Church of Veedersburg. She was born Dec 13, 1894 at Waqllae, daughter of Benton and Nancy Glasscock Wilkinson. She married Karl VanDeVanter March 1, 1913. He preceded her in death in 1966. Surviving are 4 daughters: Mrs. John (Virginia) Carter, Mt. Pleasant; Faith VanDeVanter, Phoenix, Ariz; Mrs. William (Juliet) Dundore, Torrance, Calif and Mrs. Frederick (Christine) Porcheddu of Danville, Ill; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Services will be conducted 3 p.m. Saturday in First Christian Church here. Friends may call at Parham Funeral Home after 5 p.m. Friday.

Mrs. Grace Van Devanter (sic), age 78, widow of Karl VanDevanter (sic), who lived in Veedersburg, Ind 56 years died in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa Aug 30, 19973. She was born in Wallace, Ind daughter of Benton and Nancy Glascock Wilkinson. Mr. and Mrs. VanDevanter owned and operated the VanDevanter Furniture store and Antique Shop in Veedersburg 50 years. Surviving are four daughters: Mrs. John (Virginia) Carter, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; Faith Van Devanter (sic), Phoenix, Ariz; Mrs. William (Juliet) Dundore, Torrance, Cal and Mrs. Frederick (Christine) Porcheddu, Danville, Ill also surviving are 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services incomplete at Veedersburg Christian Church, Parham Funeral Home, Veedersburg in charge. – kbz
