She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed in the Fountain County Section of Local History at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Julia VanDeventer, former resident of Attica and Covington, died 12 noon May 3 at Delaware County Hospital in Drexel Hill, Pa. She had been ill two weeks. Born March 1, 1890, in Warren County she was the daughter of Isaac and Mary Elizabeth Watkins Romine. She married C. Reid VanDeventer on June 6, 1915; he preceded her in death on Jan. 30, 1939. Surviving are two daughters, Alice VanDeventer, Lansdowne, Pa., and Mrs. Leo (Beth) Hurley, Indianapolis. Also surviving are four grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Frances Wright, Kansas City, Mo.; one brother, Guy Romine, Alliance, Neb. She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Mrs. VanDeventer had made her home with her daughter, Alice in Pennsylvania since 1948. She was a member of the Drexel Hill Methodist Church and a former member of Ouibache Chapter, DAR, Attica. Memorial services Wednesday at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home, with Rev. P. J. Hamilton officiating. Ashes interred at Riverrside Cemetery, Attica.   -– jlr
