William Vanice, 77, pioneer resident of Coal Creek, died at 10 o’clock Saturday morning of a complication of diseases incident to old age. The funeral services were held at the Baptist Church at Coal Creek Sunday afternoon in charge of Rev. Carter. Interment was made in White Cemetery. The deceased who had been a resident of Wabash Township for 40 years is survived by his widow, one son William Jr. and one daughter, Mrs. Samuel Snoddy. He served through the Civil War as a member of Co F of the 78th Pennsylvania infantry. - kbz
