ATTICA — Mary Katherine (Rollins) Vice, 86, Attica, died at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2007 at her residence in Attica. She was born Sept. 1, 1920 in Oxford, the daughter of Ed and Katherine (Pemberton) Rollins. She married Ethmer R. Vice July 23, 1939 in Fowler. He preceded in death Jan. 3, 1990. She was raised in Oxford, graduating from Oxford High School in 1938. She lived in Lafayette for 25 years and had been a resident of Attica since 1996. She formerly worked at Better Coil and Transfer Company in Goodland and Fowler. She worked as a bartender for the Sportsman's Bar in Lafayette, retiring from there in 1980. She attended the Attica Christian Church; member of Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post #3318 of Attica; member and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 476 of Boswell; and a member and past president of East Side Home Economics Club in Lafayette. She loved to read, work puzzle books and work with plastic canvas making articles. Survivors include: two sons, Russell (Madonna) Vice, Veedersburg and Rollin (Dean) Vice, Davenport, Fla.; a daughter, Mary Alice (John) Northern, Maiden, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Janet Jessie; three brothers, Ernest, Robert and Dale Rollins; and a great-granddaughter, Beth Clark. A memorial service was at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette, with Pastor Bob Elness officiating. Maus Funeral Home, Attica, was in charge of arrangements.
