Hillsboro - Donald Hobart Voorhees, 61, suffered a fatal heart attack at 11:45 p.m. (Sept 24) Saturday at his home 5 miles south of here. He and his wife, Elva had just returned from Hillsboro and retired for the evening when the attack occurred.He was born March 3, 1899, a son of William and Lean Pitman Voorhees. He was twice married, first to Catherine Harness June 25, 1920. SHe died June 24, 1921. His second marriage was to Elva Brown. They were married Dec 24, 1921. Mr. Voorhees, a farmer, was a member of New Liberty Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, a son by his firs tmarriage, William of near HIllsboro and two sons by his second marriage, Wilbur D. and Donald L, both of near HIllsboro; a brother, Floyd of Hillsboro a sister, Myrtle Powers of Crawfordsville and 17 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Alfred Voorhees and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Crumley Funeral Home here with Rev. John Kirkpatrick of Ft. Wayne in charge. Burial in Rose Hill.
