LAFAYETTE — Dee Yarno, 55, 1003 Cincinnati St., Lafayette, died at 2 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000 in the home of her brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Carrie Brier, in rural Attica, following a three-year battle with cancer. She was born Dec. 2, 1945, the daughter of James Yarno and Fern Childress Brier. She was raised in Attica, graduating from Attica High School in 1963. She formerly lived in Kansas City, Missouri and Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. While living in Ft. Lauderdale, she worked for the Ft. Lauderdale Police Department. She moved to Lafayette in 1994 and worked for Kirby-Risk. More recently she had been employed as a clerk for the Lafayette City Police Department. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Survivors include: her mother, Fern Brier, Attica; two brothers, Mike (Carrie) Brier, Attica; Don (Cheryl) Brier, Lafayette; two nieces, Julie and Angie Brier, Lafayette; two nephews, Andrew and Joey Brier, Attica; and her step mother, Donna Kennedy, Lafayette. She was preceded in death by her father and her step father, Cecil Brier. A memorial remembrance service with family and friends will be at 6 p.m. Thursday. A fellowship gathering will follow until 9 p.m. in the fellowship hall of the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the “Dee Yarno Scholarship Fund” of Attica High School. – jlr
