Orval L. Yount died on his farm near Veedersburg last Thursday afternoon at the age of 71 years.  Mr. Yount was a retired railroader and worked as a ticket agent and telegrapher at several stations on the Big Four Road of the New York Central system.  He was a member of the Veedersburg Masonic Lodge.  He was born Nov 2, 1874 near Veedersbuurg Masonic Lodge.  He was born Nov 27, 1874, near Veedersburg and was the  son of Obediah and Mariah Cook Yount.  He was married to Josephine Oranmore and following her death to Rilla Chambers. Surviving besides the wife are two sisters, Mrs. Homer Trimble of Danville and Mrs. Alto LaRue of Veedersburg several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the Fishero Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Chelan in charge. Burial was in Bonebrake Cemetery.

Orval L. Yount retired railroad employee and farmer died at 2 p.m. Thursday at his home south of Veedersburg.  Funeral services were held Sunday with Rev. Fred Chelan officiating. Interment was made in Bonebrake Cem.  Mr. Young was born November 27, 1974 son of  Obediah and Mariah Cook Yount and was a life resident of this vicinity.  He w as married to Miss Josephine Cranmore and following her death, Miss Rilla Chambers who survives. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Corinth Trimble, Danville and Mrs. Albea Larne, Veedersburg. Mr. Young was a member of the local Masonic Lodge which assisted at the services.

Orval L. Yount, the son of  Obediah & Mariah Cook Yount was b. Nov 27, 1874 at the Yount homestead 3 miles south east of Veedersburg.  He passed away March 7, 1946 at the age of 71 y 3 m and 10 d of his birth.  On Dec 4, 1898 he married Josephine Cranmore. She passed March 31, 1902. On Mar 22, 1913 he was united in marriage to Rilla Chambers of Darlington, a true and loving companion through the coming happy years of wedded life.  He started to school in the old Boggs school house.  Later attending school at the old Covington Normal and graduated from there.  In 1903 he started to work for the Big 4 RR as a telegraph operator and station agent.  This job he held for 20 years having to give up his work because of illness in his family.  He was preceded in death by his father and mother, 2 brothers, Clarence & Ordell.  He is survived by his wife, Rilla, 2 sister, Corintha Tirmble of Danville ill and Alba LaRue of Veedersburg. Several nephews and nieces a host of friends and neighbors.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Veedersburg and Low 12 Club of Wallace.  He was laid to rest at the Bonebrake Cem. amid the scenes of his childhood where his mother and father and himself worshipped in the little brick church on the hill.  Truly a good and loving husband has gone to his reward.
