ZACKMIRE, Pearl Lee

Kingman -- Dec 16 1952 -- Pearl Lee Zackmire, 63, died Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. at his home here. Death followed a heart attack suffered Saturday night. Born in Indiana on January 7, 1889, he was the son of William and Abigail Day Zackmire. On October 23, 1915, he was married to Kathleen Jackson, who survives. He operated a filling station and grocery store in Kingman and was a member of the IOOF lodge here. Survivors in addition to the widow, include six daughters: Velma and Judy at home; Mrs. Wilma Woodrow, RFD Veedersburg; Mrs. Ruthana Sutters, Bloomingdale; Mrs. Mary Lee Donovan, Hillsboro and Mrs. Maurine Hinden of Kingman; one brother, Tine Zackmire of Lafayette, four sisters, Mrs. Ruby Joyce of Colorado; Mrs. Kate Shanks of Indianapolis; Mrs. Celia Gregory of Lebanon and Mrs. Lulu Bryant Hammond and six grandchildren. he was preceeded in death by three brothers and a sister. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Woodrow Funeral Home by Rev HA Lashbrook of Elwood. Burial will be in Zackmire Cemetery SE of Kingman. Friends may pay their respects at the family residence after 10 a.m. Wednesday. The body will be returned to the Funeral Home one hour before services.
