ZACKMIRE, Susan Catherine Bowers - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Mrs. Susan Zackmire, 87, died at 4 a.m. on Sunday at her home in Yeddo following a two year illness. She had been in a serious condition during the past few weeks. Mrs. Zackmire was born in Parke County, Indiana on July 7, 1864, the daughter of Felix and Catherine Hepler Bowers. She was a member of Wallace Lutheran Church. On September 29, 1880 she was married to Thomas Zackmire. He preceded her in daeth March 7, 1948. Survivors include a son, Ransom of Yeddo; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Allen of W. Lebanon and Mrs. Lizzie Shoaf of Attica ; 19 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, a daughter nad a son. Funeral services were held at the Freedom church near Wallac eon tuesday, Sept 25 at 2 p.m. with Rev. leslie Smith oficiating. Burial was in Zackmire cemtery with the Woodrow Funeral Home in charge.
