John D. Babb, 80, of 307 E. Franklin Street a retired 24-year-employee of RR Donnelleys & Co. died Monday in Culver Hospital. He had taught school in Fountain County and had been a field agent for the Indiana Boys School. He was a member of the Church of Christ, 50 year member of Yeddo Masonic Lodge, American Legion & Donnelley Club. Mr. Babb was a WWI veteran. He was graduated from Kingman HS and attended Central Normal College at Danville. Mr. Babb was born Aug 19, 1895, a son of John H. and Ellen Riley Babb. He was married to Gertrude Adkins on Nov 20, 1930. Surviving are the wife and a sister, Mrs. Icy Allen of Crawfordsville. He was preced in death by 4 brothers and two sisters. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. in the Powers Funeral Home with Gene Warman and Clyde Peck officiaitng. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be by Byron Cox Post of American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home.
