HILLSBORO - Miss Betty L. Bailey, 74, a retired schoolteacher, died in her home here Sunday. She was born on Jan. 30, 1899, at Hillsboro, the daughter of Frank and Carrie Tucker Bailey. Miss Bailey retired in 1970 after teaching at Hillsboro, Richmond Township and the Fountain Central School District. A graduate of Hillsboro High School and Central Normal College at Danville, Ind., she also attended the University of Illinois and Butler University. She received her master's degree from Indiana State University at Terre Haute. She was a member of the Hillsboro Christian Church and the Retired Teachers Association of Fountain County. Survivors include an adopted son, David Wood of Reno, Nev., one niece, Mrs. Jean Wood, and a brother-in-law, Earl Knox of Hillsboro. Miss Bailey was preceded in death by a sister. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerome McCoy will officiate. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery at Waynetown. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. today.
