Edgar Ballah, 91, of 1215 N. Griffin, died at 8:10 a.m. Sunday March 2, 1969 at Vermilion Nursing Home where he had been a patient since Feb 19. He was a member of the Methodist Church. His employment had been as a crane operator at Holmes Bros and prior to that, he had been a car repairman for C&EI RR. Born Oct 3, 1877 in Covington Ind he was a son of Amos & Margaret Cunningham Ballah. In 1907, he was married to Blanche Brown in Danville. She preceded him in death July 1, 1964. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Homer (Thelma) Ray, Danville and Mrs. Carl (Irma) Holycross, Peoria; a sister, Mrs. Lena Murrin, Veedersburg, Ind; 3 grandchildren and 9 great grandchldren. The body is at Barrick & Son Funeral Home for services at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Eldon Gourley will officiate with burial in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home 3-5 and 7-9 Tuesday. Mr. Ballah was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers and two sisters.
