Florence B. Balser, 92 of WIlliamsport died at Country Care Nursing Center at 11:10 a.m. Thursday Sept 15, 1994. She had been a resident there since past April. She was born near Portland Arch in Fountain County Jul 4, 1902, the daughter of WIlliam and Katheryn (Helms) Marquess. She came to Warren County in 1918 and moved to WIlliamsport in 1980. She married Sept 13, 1920 in Williamsport Herbert B. Balser, a farmer, who preceded her in death Nov 15, 1973. She and her husband owned and operated Fairview Station on SR 28 for 20 years. She retired in 1974 and continued to live at Fairview until 1980. She was a member of the WIlliamsport Chrisian Church and Ladies Council of the Church. She was also a member of the Williamsport Senior Center. She is survived by two sons, Robert and Gene; 3 daughters, Mrs. Harold (Frances) Hershey; Mrs. Lowell (Iathleen) Hogue and Mrs. Joe (Roberta) Anderson; one sister, Mrs. Olga McMasters of Danville, Ill; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Hansel one grandson, five brothers and two sisters. Visitation was Sunday at Fisher Funeral Home, williamsport. Services on Monday with Rev. Don William officiating. Interment at Rainsville.
