Note two - according to the CDPL index, there is an obit for a Bruce Banta in the Crawfordsville Journal Review 5 Nov 1975 p 2 (very odd two Bruce Bantas would die the same year so not sure which is correct

Note three - according to the US Social Security death index, he died in January 1975

Rockville - Bruce Banta, 91, a retired farmer who also had worked at Turkey Run State Park died at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday in Holiday Nursing Home, Clinton. His home was at Rockville. Mr. Banta was a trustee of Wolf Creek Church and Wolf Creek Cemetery. He was born Dec 13, 1883, in Howard Township, Parke COunty. He was a son of Joseph and Armilda Allen Banta. Surviving are two sons, Thomas of Rockville and Rice of Marshall; two daughtesr, Mrs. a. Paul (Wilma) Myers of Marshall and Mrs. Melvin (Mary) Hesler of near Rockville; a nephew who made his home with them, Hugh V. Banta of Rockville; 16 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Wolf Creek Church where the body will lie in state an hour prior to services. The Rev. James O. Trousdale will officiate. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Friends may call at Tudor-Herrick Memorial Chapel here after 3 p.m. Thursday.
