A.P. Barker, 72 died at 4 a.m. Monday in Culver Hospital. He had been in failing health two years and critically ill one week. Born Aug 26, 1887, at Cates, he was a son of Joe and Elzada Gooding Barker. He lived near Elmdale most of his life and was a farmer and pruchased and sold horses. Mr. Barker helped organize the Crawfordsville Sales Pavilion and Green Street Sales Barn. Surviving are a brother, Cleve Barker of Crawfordsville, a half brother, Lloyd of LaPorte; a stepsister, Golden Daugherty of Muncie and several nieces and nephews. Funeral rites are set for 4 p.. Wednesday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Guy Tremaine officiating. Burial will be in Wingate Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
