Emerson Barker, 83 years old retired farmer died Tuesday morning in St. .Elizabeth Hospital, Danville, Ill. He had been hospitalized since Aug 25. A resident of Kingman, he was a member of Friends Church at Tangier. He was born Dec 29, 1881 in Parke CO. son of Jesse and Martha Baccus Barker. He was married in 1907 to Nellie Swaim. She died Jul 27, 1962. Surviving are two brothers, Vernon of Linden and Morton of South Bend; a sister, Mrs. Hannah Stor of Decatur, Ill; and two granddaughters, Mary and Martha Gail Thomas, both of Lakeside, AZ. He was preceded in death by a dau. Fun serv are set for 2 p.m Thursday at Woodrow Funeral home here with Rev Ruth Isaacs officiating. Interment will be in Fraternal Cemetery here. Friends may pay their respects from 2 until 4 in the afternoon and from 7 until 9 in the evening.
